Lorton Rainfall Nov. 12 - Nov. 18, 2012

Daily rainfall totals for previous 24 hours measured at 6am from my rain gauge in Lorton.

With fall soon over and winter approaching, our area usually gets two/thirds of an inch of rainfall per week. Last week, we received 0.57” of rain, and the outlook (see graphics) through early December looks dry. If you’ve planted some landscape this fall, you may want to water it some during the day to ensure it’s healthy.

My rain gauge in Lorton recorded the following precipitation at 6 a.m. on the day indicated for the previous 24 hours:

Date Precip Mon 11/12/2012 0.00” Tue 11/13/2012 0.40” Wed 11/14/2012 0.17” Thu 11/15/2012 0.00” Fri 11/16/2012 0.00” Sat 11/17/2012 0.00” Sun 11/18/2012 0.00” Totals : 0.57”

Very interesting article! I would only correct Rob's math--a posted speed limit of 160 kilometersRead More per hour is equal to 99 miles per hour, not 80. And 220 km/hr equals 136 mph--no wonder his knuckles were white,

Yes, did not do the conversion correctly. When on the road, I just use the 50% figure for a roughRead More estimate. 136 was not too much fun! Thanks,
