Lorton Rainfall Jan 21 - 27, 2013

It’s winter. There should be no question about that at this point - this last week it felt like and acted like winter. We finally rose above freezing at local airports Sunday afternoon, but with our string of days below freezing was the lengthiest period of cold we’ve had since Feb 5-8, 2007 when it was below freezing for four days in a row.
Prior to Sunday, it had not been above freezing since Tuesday morning 1/22. It looks like we’ll get a break this week, however, with a period of warm temperatures before turning cooler again. Normal temperatures this time of year are a high of 43 and a low of 24 - we should end the week close to normal.
My rain gauge in Lorton recorded the following precipitation at 6am on the day indicated for the previous 24 hours:
