Daily rainfall totals for previous 24 hours measured at 6am from my rain gauge in Lorton.
Winter starts next week, though temperatures of late certainly haven’t felt like it. December is the month when the average overnight low temperature dips below freezing, where it stays until March. A chart of the temperatures at Dulles airport accompanies this article.
It rained many days this past week, but not very much rain fell. My rain gauge in Lorton recorded the following precipitation at 6am on the day indicated for the previous 24 hours:
