Lorton Rainfall Aug. 13-19
Daily rainfall totals for previous 24 hours measured at 6am from my rain gauge in Lorton.
Summer is drawing to a close. The attached graph from Dulles Airport shows that the normal temperatures (light green) are now on the decline. Actual temperatures this year are shown by the dark blue jagged line. At the end of September we can look forward to highs near 75 and lows around 50. I don’t like to look much beyond that.
So this week - again we got some rain, but like last week it was a little short of normal for this time of year. It was the same total (0.47”) as last week. My rain gauge in Lorton recorded the following precipitation at 6am on the day indicated for the previous 24 hours:
