Mount Vernon Nights at the Workhouse kicks off this weekend with the rhythm and blues sounds of the Johnny Artis Band.  This series of free public concerts will take place Saturday evenings at 7pm on the Quad.  Please bring your picnic, comfy lawn chair or blanket and enjoy the show.  Come early and stroll through our art galleries and meet over 100 of the region's finest artists.

The free opening reception for Urban Decay 3 will be held in the McGuireWoods Gallery from 5-11pm Saturday evening.  If you are a fan of street art, vinyl toy collectibles, aerosol works, posters, prints and more then Urban Decay 3 is an exhibition for you! Thirty-one artists, live demonstrations, raffles, live music and more make this an opening night not be missed. We'll kick off the opening reception from 5-6pm with a special panel discussion from four of the featured artists; James Walker, RSIN, Kenny Brown and Gabriel Pons. Then we'll kick it up a notch from 7-11pm and include live artist demonstrations from Kenny Brown, Jesse Smith and Carlos Aguilar, live music from "Lightspeed Rescue" and "Shade Parade" and much more.  To follow Urban Decay 3 please visit http://juxtsaposing.blogspot.com/.
