Celebrate Summer at the Workhouse Saturday!

Looking for some free summer fun!?

The whole neighborhood is invited to the Celebrate Summer Block Party at the Workhouse Arts Center Saturday, June 23rd at 3pm!  We will be offering a variety of family activities, music, a community resource tent, food from some of Lorton’s most popular restaurants and, of course, ART! Kids can take a swing at learning golf from the Fairfax County Park Authority golf pros or scheme with the zany Workhouse Jester to encourage good-natured mayhem and mirth!

Find your inner peace with a participatory yoga demonstration, get your face painted, pamper your pet with Fetch Dog Boutique treats and accessories, or check out all the other groups, artists, and food vendors.  Mingle with Workhouse Artists on the Quad as they demonstrate their work.

The Workhouse is partnering with the Lorton Community Action Center (LCAC) during the Block Party to collect non-perishables for those in need in our community. Bring your donations to the collection truck on the Quad and visit with the folks from the LCAC to learn about their services and how the community can both benefit from and contribute to this important organization.

Stick around for Ruthie and the Wranglers, performing their roots/rock sounds and then Cinema Under the Stars featuring the sing-a-long version of the movie Grease. The kids will love it and so will you!
