IHOP to Open in Lorton in August

We visited the old Polo Grill, and it was empty.

In five months, Lorton will be home to an International House of Pancakes. It's been four months since the closing of the Polo Grill at 7784 Gunston Plaza, and the building has been completely gutted.

"We're targeting to open in Lorton on August 5," said IHOP spokesman Craig Hoffman to Patch on Thursday.

Polo Grill (originally Gunston's Restaurant) opened in 1989, and was sold two years later to Alexandria restaurateur Ralph Davis, who sold it to Zora and his partner Mike Kiros in 2008.

The pair changed the name to the Polo Mediterranean Bar & Grill, and added Greek and Italian dishes to the menu. The restaurant closed in November.
