Fairfax Connector To Reduce Fares

Some area fares cut by more than half.

Fares for six routes on the Fairfax Connector will be reduced starting July 1 — some by more than half.

The fares have been reduced to increase ridership and match the fare structure of other transit agencies, according to a press release from the Fairfax Connector service.

Route 394: Saratoga – Pentagon Express

  • Current fare: $5.35 if paid by SmarTrip or cash
  • New fare: $3.65 if paid by SmarTrip, $4 if paid by cash

Route 395: Pentagon – Gambrill Road

  • Current fare: $5.35 if paid by SmarTrip or cash
  • New fare: $3.65 if paid by SmarTrip, $4 if paid by cash 

Route 493: Lorton to Tysons

  • Current fare: $3.65 if paid by SmarTrip, $4 if paid by cash
  • New fare: $1.60 if paid by SmarTrip, $1.80 if paid by cash

Route 494: Springfield to Tysons

  • Current fare: $3.65 if paid by SmarTrip, $4 if paid by cash
  • New fare: $1.60 if paid by SmarTrip, $1.80 if paid by cash

Route 495: Burke VRE to Tysons

  • Current fare: $3.65 if paid by SmarTrip, $4 if paid by cash
  • New fare: $1.60 if paid by SmarTrip, $1.80 if paid by cash

Route 981: Tysons West*Park to Dulles Airport Express

  • Current fare: $5.35 if paid by SmarTrip or cash
  • New fare: $1.60 if paid by SmarTrip, $1.80 if paid by cash
