Wreck Slows Traffic on Interstate 95 Heading North

At least two people with significant injuries, HOV lanes closed.

Update, 1:30 p.m.: Crews continued to work in the HOV lanes to clean-up the accident scene, but traffic is moving in the regular lanes.

Original post, 12:50 p.m.:
 Traffic heading north on Interstate 95 is backed up for more than two miles due to an accident. The wreck is at mile marker 163, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.

Both HOV lanes are closed as crews work at the accident site, and traffic was slow-moving in the standard northbound lanes.

One victim has been airlifted with a major head trauma and a second victim is also expected to be airlifted.
