- Where: Mount Vernon Estate and Gardens, 3200 Mount Vernon Memorial Highway, Alexandria
- What: Themed Christmas trees, a gingerbread Mount Vernon, Aladdin the camel - who recreates a camel's visit to the estate during Christmas of 1787 - and chocolate-making demonstrations make for a festive seasonal celebration at George Washington’s home.
- Cost: $15 for adults 12 and over, $14 for senior citizens, $7 for children ages 6 to 11 and free for 5 and younger.
- When: Friday, Dec. 23, doors open at 6 p.m., and Sunday, Dec. 25, doors open at 3 p.m.
- Where: Lazy Susan Dinner Theatre, 10712 Richmond Highway, Lorton
- What: Enjoy a dinner buffet followed by a performance of Charles Dickens’ classic “A Christmas Carol.”
- Cost: $41.95 for ages 16 and up, $35 for youths ages 11 to 15 and $25 for children 10 and younger.

- Where: George Mason University Patriot Center, Fairfax
- What: Root on the George Mason men’s basketball team as they host Manhattan.
- Cost: $16 for adults, $9 for senior citizens and $8 for youths 18 and under. Add $2 more if purchased on day of game.
