Ceramic Visiting Artist Exhibition: Pete Pinnell

The Workhouse will feature Ceramics Visiting Artist Exhibition: Pete Pinnell in Gallery W-16 from March 2-27. Peter Pinnell has been teaching at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln since 1995, where he is Professor of Art and Hixson-Lied Professor of Ceramics. In addition to his teaching, his work has appeared in exhibition throughout the United States, and in China, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Australia, New Zealand, The Netherlands, Germany and South Africa. His writing on ceramics has appeared in major ceramics publications in the United States and Australia, and he writes a regular column for Clay Times magazine. The public is invited to a closing reception and slide talk with Peter Pinnell on Friday, March 25 from 7-9pm in Gallery W-16.

Pinnell will also hold a workshop from March 25-27 in Building W-8 entitled, Form and Surface for the Potter. The format of the workshop will repeatedly shift from demo and discussion to hand-on participation and back again. This will provide the participants with the opportunity to see a demonstration and then immediately put the information to use. The focus will be on the throwing, altering and surfacing of wet and leather-hard clay objects.Β  Please call 703-584-2900 or visit http://www.workhousearts.org/ for more information and to register.
