"All About Color" by Carol Iglesias

The Workhouse Arts Center presents the exhibition "All About Color" by Carol Iglesias, from May 11- June 5 in Building W-4. The artist's extreme use of color in her paintings led her to this obvious title for her show. For the first time in about five years, Carol will be showing some large work in oil, in addition to her recognized pastel paintings. Her extensive love of travel inspires her and provides the subject matter for much of her work, which she describes as "An Abstract/Impressionist Style In Vibrant Colors." Throughout her career, she has painted in many locations in Europe, including Provence and Tuscany, as well as many sites in the Caribbean and the United States. She has shown her pastel paintings in over thirty exhibitions in galleries and museums throughout Virginia, Maryland, D.C., South Carolina, Iowa, Puerto Rico and Washington, as well as, participated in shows which have traveled around the U.S.

Born in Montreal, Canada, Carol Iglesias grew up in the Pacific Northwest, graduated from Olympic College in Washington State, and continued her study of art at The New School of Visual Concepts in Seattle. Throughout her career, she has lived in various parts of the country.  She enjoyed a successful career for twenty years as a graphic designer and art director. Also, she co-founded a design company in Asheville, North Carolina and won numerous awards both nationally and internationally for her designsAs a fine artist, she is a signature member of the Maryland Pastel Society, and her paintings are in public and private collections throughout this country and abroad.
