The Lorton Perspective: Your New Year's Resolutions

On track for your goals in 2012?

Today, Patch was at the Shoppes of Lorton Valley to ask this question: What is your New Year's resolution?

Here's what some Lorton residents said:

Ellen Vega, 18, at Starbucks:
"My goal is to quit smoking - as original as that sounds. I've been smoking for four years... bad crowd, I guess. My plan is to stop buying them, throw away my beloved lighters and go cold turkey."

Zahara Shah, a dental assistant at Lorton Valley Dental:
"I don't even know what my resolution is this year. I do make them usually, but I never stick to them. Maybe that's why I don't have one!"

Virginia Commonwealth University student Mike Marino, 19, outside Lorton Music
"Actually, I haven't thought of any New Year's resolutions. I have in the past, but I never really stuck to them. So, I figured I'd make some more short-term goals. I'm a music major, so I want to practice more every month."

Singer Alvin Tan, 19, inside Five Guys Burgers and Fries:
"Probably to play a few more shows in the area... And not eating after 10:00 p.m."
