The Adventures of a Single Married Girl at the Workhouse Arts Center
Ever find yourself asking "Who am I and what am I doing?" You're not alone.
"Single Married Girl" is the story of becoming yourself again, and it runs this weekend only at the Workhouse Arts Center.
The one-woman comedy is based on Laurel Spears' blog The Adventures of a Single Married Girl, which catalogues her three-year search for happiness after leaving a hollow marriage.
Heather Bagnall and Luke Tudbell of Tasty Monster Productions in Annapolis, MD, adapted the blog into a 50-minute show. Bagnall, who recently got a divorce in real-life, has found parallels with her main character.

"I was working too hard to hide my awesomeness," said Bagnall. "There was this point where I realized that I hadn't chosen the restaurant or the movie for years. You've got to grab life while you've got it, and that's something you forget about."
In the play, Laurel rediscovers herself by taking herself out on a date.

"There's no handbook that tells you how to be happy in a dissatisfactory relationship," said Bagnall. "You need to be a whole person if you are going to be in a real relationship."
The show premiered in last year's Capitol Fringe Festival. After the final performance at the Workhouse, Bagnall and Tudbell will travel to Europe, where the show will be performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland.
"A lot of people identify with the show," sadid Tudbell. "And it's not selfish or arrogant to have your own life in a relationship."
"Single Married Girl" will play at the Workhouse theatre at 8:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and at 2 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets cost $25 for adults, $20 for seniors/military and $16 for students.
