Photos of the Day: Storytelling at the Lorton Library

Gary Lloyd talked about "Johnny Reb and Billy Yank"

Do you know about the second American Revolution? Today, more than 30 children gathered to listen to storyteller Gary Lloyd share true tales from both sides of the Civil War.

"There is nothing funny about war," said Lloyd, "and when I was your age I didn't think history was all that interesting. But the one thing I will tell you is that if you are interested about some event in history, try to read more than one book, because books are written by people who have their own interpretations.

"If someone from the South wrote something about the Civil War, it's going to be different than someone from the North telling the same story. For instance, the South called it the Battle of Manassas, but the North called it Bull Run, and it was the same battle."
