NWS: Snow Could Change to Rain Between 7-10 p.m. Monday

Sunny with high of 51 degrees expected on Tuesday

Snow is expected to continue falling in Northern Virginia until 6-7 p.m. Monday, changing to rain between 7-10 p.m., according to the National Weather Service. The chance of precipitation is 100 percent, with a total nighttime snow accumulation of less than a half-inch possible.

Little if any accumulation is expected outside of grassy areas and coatings on trees and elevated surfaces, according to ABC7's Doug Hill.

Will Fairfax County schools open late Tuesday? It’s possible due to messy roadways, but the chance of any cancellations? “Sorry kids, I don’t think that’s going to be the case,” Channel 4’s chief meteorologist Doug Kammerer said in his forecast Monday afternoon.
