• Where: Gunston Hall Plantation, 10709 Gunston Road, Lorton
• What: Indulge in a candle-lit Yuletide meal featuring traditional holiday favorites. Dinner includes admission to “Plantation Christmas.”

• When: Saturday, Dec. 10, 5:30 p.m.
• Where: Gunston Hall Plantation, 10709 Gunston Road, Lorton
• What: Ride in a horse-drawn carriage, sip warm cider by the bonfire, and sample period recipes in the hearth kitchen, including the cook’s famous syllabub. Enjoy live holiday music, candlelight mansion tours, and costumed characters sharing seasonal merriment.
• Cost: $15 for adults, $8 for ages 6 to 18 and $2 for ages 2 to 5

• When: Saturday, Dec. 10, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
• Where: Workhouse Arts Center, 9601 Ox Road, Lorton
• What: The Workhouse stays open on the second Saturday of each month so you can mingle with the artists and tour their studios. Light refreshments will be served. Burke Pro Photo in building W-10, Studio 1011, is offering a portrait special during the art walk.  

• When: Saturday, Dec. 10, 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
• Where: Silverbrook United Methodist Church, 8616 Silverbrook Road, Lorton
• What: Sing Christmas carols around the firepit while enjoying hot chocolate and homemade cookies. Bring a camp chair and a blanket to keep warm.

• When: Sunday, Dec. 11, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
• Where: Springfield Mall, JCPenney Court
• What: Have your favorite pet’s photo taken with Santa. Dogs and cats only. Pet must be on a leash or in a carrier.
