Here are five fun things to do in the Lorton area this weekend

It’s the weekend and you’re looking for fun things to do. Patch can help with our top picks for activities in the Lorton area.

  • Where:  Huntley Meadows Park, 3701 Lockheed Blvd., Alexandria
  • What: Café Cattail is an open mike coffeehouse for nature lovers. Enjoy original poetry, sing along rounds, dance and musical performances.

  • When: Friday, 7:30 p.m.
  • Where: South County Secondary School, 8501 Silverbrook Rd., Lorton
  • What: Cheer on the Stallions as they host T.C. Williams.
  • Cost: $5
  • When: Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Where: Downtown Occoquan
  • What: Stroll the streets of Occoquan and shop contemporary and country crafters and artisans from around the country.
  • When: Saturday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Where: Antioch Baptist Church, 6531 Little Ox Rd., Fairfax Station
  • What: Enjoy children’s rides, music, dancing, games and a health fair.
  • When: Sunday, 1:30 p.m.
  • Where: Mason Neck State Park, 7301 High Point Rd., Lorton
  • What: Immerse yourself in the wonders of area wetlands. Hands-on collection and observation will help you learn about the amazing adaptations of aquatic creatures.
  • Cost: Free with $4 admission to park.
