Five great things to do in Lorton this weekend

Lorton Patch has you covered with five great things to do this weekend in the Lorton Area.

1. The Workhouse has a special event in correlation with the National Cherry Blossom Festival. On Friday, April 1 and Saturday April 2, they are presenting the . Both days have a long list of events from a film screening to a sushi demo.

2. Friday Night in the Courtyard begins this week in Lorton Station Town Center. This week is . Watch hula and fire dances along with family activities. The fun starts at 7:00pm and the local restaurants are offering specials.

3. The has been moved up to Saturday morning. Volunteers are needed to clean up the banks of the Potomac River in Mason Neck State Park starting at 9:30a.m.

4. Congressman Gerry Connolly is announcing the winners of the 2011 at the Workhouse on Sunday at 2:00pm. The awards reception will honor the Fairfax and Prince William County students who won this year’s awards.
