Flu Shots Now Available at Giant Food Stores

Flu season is right around the corner, and $30 vaccinations are now available at Giant Food stores, including the Lorton location on Ox Road. 

“Giant is proud to offer seasonal flu shots at all 159 of our in-store pharmacies in Maryland, Virginia, Delaware, and Washington, D.C.,” said Gayle Shields, director of pharmacy operations, Giant Food of Landover, Md. “Flu shots are reformulated every year, so it’s important people are vaccinated on an annual basis.”  

The Centers For Disease Control and Prevention recommend an annual vaccination for children from six months and older, including preteens and teens.

"Children under the age of 9 years may require more than one dose," according to the CDC. "Talk to your child’s health care provider to find out if they need more than one dose."

Influenza peaks in the winter, and millions of Americans are affected every year. Giant accepts most major insurance plans, including Medicare, and appointments are not necessary.
