I’m growing tired of this not quite winter. Spring doesn’t come until Wednesday, March 20 but on average we may have already seen our last snowfall. Looking at the weather data since 2000 for Dulles airport, the average last date of snowfall is February 28th. Assuming we don’t get anymore snow this year, our last measurable snowfall was 2/13. A graph showing the dates of the last snowfalls since 2000 accompanies this article... You couldn’t make a prediction on this limited climate record - sometimes there’s snow until April, other years none past January. As I wrote last week, this year isn’t giving any indications of being a snowy one, though.
