I said this before. Guns were invented to KILL! Whether as a hunter looking for meat to put on his family's table, or protect his life, his family's lives and home or to kill the enemy in a war. So, what happened in Sandy Hook School when a young man entered the kindergarten classroom, killing six adults and 20 six-year-old children.
I do not think for one minute that the young man was "crazy". I think, for whatever reason, he thought he needed to get his anger ended by a quirk in his head at the moment to kill. So he took weapons his mother collected along with enough ammuniiton to do what he WANTED TO DO AT THAT MOMENT!
Why would his mother collect such an array of firearms? Maybe what we really need is that gun collectors maybe should have their "toys", but the toys would not be useable. I understand that the firing pin can be removed from each weapon making it useless as a weapon. Yes? No? All you NRA people, whether active members or wishers to be users, would rather have useful weapons. More dangerous to have something truly dangerous. It is like owning a wild animal that you have loose in your home. It hasn't attacked you, so it is OK.
A wild animal can suddenly realize that attacking you or some member of your family or maybe a visiting friend, is what it wants to do - and then? who is guilty - you are the animal whose basic thoughts are to protect and kill?
