Update: Lorton Restaurant Inspection Results
The most recent inspection reports from local restaurants and food vendors.
You may want to know how area restaurants performed in their last Virginia Department of Health inspection.
Restaurants in the Commonwealth are inspected between one and four times a year. There are two types of violations: Critical and non-critical. What's the difference? Critical violations, unless corrected, can contribute to "food contamination, illness or environmental degradation," according to the state health department.
Non-critical violations are not as severe, but can lead to critical violations if not corrected.
The health department recently inspected the following Lorton restaurants:
How It Works
Clicking on the restaurant name will bring you to the business' page in the Patch directory of local businesses. Clicking here will bring you to VDH's web page where you can find detailed information on any of the restaurants listed below.
Clicking on the number under critical violations will take you directly to that restaurant's report.
Patch will update this table as new reports come in. Have something to say about one of the restaurants? Tell us about it!

As a chef I have always suggested that the public becomes proactive in investigating the restaurants they may want to try or or have frequented before.Sometimes when I suggest they go to the health inspectors website for the county they are in, they will say "I don't want to know". But you really need to know. There is no excuse for not maintaining a clean, germ free as possible environment by maintaining simple basic health standards and keeping a continuous sanitation program in any food preparation environment. The elderly and children are especially susceptible, and wouldn't you want to know if the employees wash their hands before handling food or that sanitation stations are maintained along with clean knives and counter tops? It may also not make you immediately sick , but break down your immune system so that, surprise ! ,you get "the flu" later on or wonder why you are now getting allergies when you never had before. I think this report is terrific. Also, you may notice that many of the ethnic restaurants listed have the most violations, no prejudice intended, but 4 ,5 or 6 critical violations is intolerable. But I have seen restaurants such as "Emerils" also get extremely bad marks, so always go onto any of your County Health Department website to check out the inspections before going out to eat or ordering delivery.. Keep up the good work James Cullum and Lorton Patch and thank you!

Chef, Thanks for your comments! As you will doubtless agree - consistency and quality control are key with running a successful restaurant.
