The Workhouse Farmers' Market Reopens Thursday!
Missing out on your weekly fresh fruit from the farmers' market?
The wait is nearly over. Smart Markets Lorton at the Workhouse Arts Center reopens on Thursday, March 14, and will be open from 3-6 p.m.
“We just couldn't wait till spring,” said Smart Markets founder Jean Janssen. “We encourage everyone to shop local and eat off the land rather than from the factory. Real food is cheaper and safer than medicine.”
Products for sale include:
- Produce from Maryland’s Heritage Farm and Kitchen and West Virginia’s Tyson Farms and Orchards, including apples, kale, potatoes, beets and more
- Baked goods, jams, jellies, milk, cheese, eggs, ice cream and meats from Heritage Farm and Kitchen of Maryland
- Freshly processed chicken and turkey, duck, chicken and quail eggs from B&D Poultry
- Breads and baked goods from Valley View Bakery and Great Harvest Bread Company
- Barbecue from Fat and Happy BBQ
- Latin delicacies from Delicias del Sur
- Snack mixes from Comfort Mix Snack Mixes
- Tasty savory pastries from Celtic Pasties
- Salad dressings from Joie de Vivre Fine Foods
- Great pasta from Cavanna Pasta
- Quality locally roasted coffee from Kustomcoffee
- Tasty treats from Kylie’s Pop Shop
- Refreshing punch from Queen Victoria’s Island Punch
- With more vendors to come in May!
Smart Markets, Inc., operates guaranteed producer-only farmers’ markets in Oakton, Reston, Bristow, Manassas Park, Springfield and Lorton. The market will be open until 7 p.m. starting April 25.
