"Miss Electricity" is just about the most fun you can have with your kids in Lorton. The latest show from the Workhouse Arts Center's Studio 3 for Young Audiences runs on Saturdays until Feb. 25, 2012.

Violet (Anna Jackson) is a fifth grade outcast who has trouble remembering geography and wants to be remembered forever by breaking a world record. One day she's struck twice by lightning, and after recovering, she seems to mysteriously control electrical currents. Friends and schoolmates are shocked when Violet, who now calls herself "Miss Electricity", shuts off lights and a stereo at the flick of her wrist.

"Geography teachers must be pulling their hair out to find some way to make their subject interesting," said show director Caren Hearne. "I'm very proud that we're the only professional company on the East Coast that's doing this show."

The cast:

Violet: Anna Jackson

Freddy: Eben Kuhns

Narrator, Billy the Bully, Zeus: Chris Galindo

Mrs. Waldo, Athena: Sabra Michelle

"Miss Electricity" was written by Kathryn Walat
