Local Results: How Lorton Voted

Precinct-by-precinct results on every race and issue Lorton-area voters decided on.

 

Voters in the Lorton area headed to the polls Tuesday to choose a president, senator, representative and to vote on several county-wide ballot initiatives.

President Barack Obama defeated former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, the GOP nominee in the presidential race. There were several third-party candidates in the race for president, as well. 

Former Senator and Virginia Gov. George Allen lost to former Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine in the race for the U.S. Senate.

U.S. Rep. Jim Moran, a Democrat, won his 12th term, defetaing Republican Patrick Murray, Independent candidate Jason Howell and Independent Green Party candidate Janet Murphy.

In addition, Fairfax County voters decided on four bond referendums.

South County 629 voted at South County Middle School. Also, South County Secondary is now South County High School.
