Hearing Date Set for Sub Shop Explosion Suspect

Horace Thompson was arrested by Washington Metropolitan Police last month after his release from the Washington Burn Center.

A preliminary hearing date has been set for Horace Thompson, the 25-year-old suspect charged with igniting an incendiary device at the Sub Shop in Lorton in February. Thompson, who has no fixed address, will make a plea in Fairfax County Criminal Court on May 8.

The Sub Shop was destroyed on the morning of Wednesday, Feb 6, when an incendiary device exploded. Restaurant owner Lawrence Reese was inside at the time, and was injured by the blast. Read Reese's account of the incident here.

A suspect, possibly injured, was seen leaving the scene on foot.

Thompson was arrested after his release from the Washington Burn Center by Washington Metropolitan Police on Feb. 14. He was transferred to Fairfax County and served with warrants for arson of an occupied building and aggravated malicious wounding.

It's about time for an update on how Mr. Reese is doing, hopefully including an estimate of when the sub shop will be open again, A lot of Lorton people will want to celebrate that.

It will be interesting to find what inconsistencies there are between the stories of the suspect and the shop owner, which were not listed in the NBC story. The story provided few additional details, and we will be picking up that search warrant affadavit to get a closer look ourselves.

Jesus Christ God Almighty and the two victims, Horace Thomspon and Lawrence Reese knows the truth! Media and all other individuals commenting on something that they have no idea of what happened. Everyone just step aside and let the almighty God do his work. The truth will set Horace Thompson free!
