Hayfield Students Advance to 2013 State Forensics Meet
Get ready to hear some strong arguments from the Hawks.
Three Hayfield Secondary students will contend against hundreds at the Virginia High School League (VHSL) state forensics tournament on March 23.
Hayfield student Allisha Edwards won first place in Storytelling in the regional tournament, and teammates Grant Hinton took second place and Armin Haracic won third place in original oratory. And just in case, Hayfield’s Lindsay Summers and Tyler Coburn, who won fourth and fifth place, are alternates to the state tournament.
The tournament's extemporaneous topics were released to schools last month. Those topics are:
- American Business
- African Trouble Spots
- The United States Military
- Iran
The Hayfield students will no doubt see three students from Chantilly High School at the tournament (they were the Northern Region champs this year).
