Erik Estrada Coming to Lorton to Talk Internet Safety
He'll speak Sunday at the Woodbridge Moose Lodge in Lorton.
Some may remember him as "Ponch," the motorcycle-riding patrolman fighting crime on TV's "CHiPs," from the late '70s and early '80s. But these days Erik Estrada, star of the cult-classic television show, is fighting a new kind of crime.
The event, which will be held from noon to 4 p.m., will include raffles, door prizes and food and drinks. Estrada is scheduled to appear at 2 p.m. The proceeds for the event will go to the Safe Surfin Foundation.
"It is our hope to raise as much money as possible for this most worthwhile foundation," wrote Kenney Head, administrator for the Woodbridge Moose Family Center, in a recent letter.
Non-profit Safe Surfin Foundation was formed in 2000 by the Bedford County (Va.) Sheriff’s office. Estrada will also speak at the Front Royal Moose Lodge 829 Sunday from 6-8 p.m.
