It's tragic that police are wasting any time going after a drug that is much safer than alcohol or tobacco. It's even more tragic that this will encourage more use of alcohol (kills 85,000 people a year, according to the AMA) or tobacco (kills 443,000 a year), instead of marijuana (which kills zero, as far as medical science can tell). Many people may find those numbers hard to believe, so try looking up the data for yourself.

Dick - maybe it is a waste of time. However, the culprit/user can be arrested and jailed. It is not safe - maybe by comparison to some others, it is, but in the long range, it is not. Sally

I agree Dick. Let's not talk about alcohol. Let's talk about cell phones and driving. That poses such a bigger risk than marijuana. Much bigger. I would bet money that jealousy and rage over social media outlets like facebook have killed and harmed more than marijuana. Hiypocrisy at it's highest level. Hemp, which is A MILLION times more viable and sustainable than cotton, more nutritious than corn and easier to grow than both of them is illegal to grow because IT RESEMBLES it's cousin, marijuana. Sad ... a no argument is valid here. Footnote - can't stand smoking the stuff, I think its gross.

Having been through the minor drug use of my then teen-age sons, It is all DANGEROUS! Marijuana was the cause of a friend of my younger son to be able to get a good job for any length of time, because his mind wandered from work to being or wanting to be high on marijuana. Where he is today? I hope he is OK - but he is not mine to worry over. Marijuana kills a person's desire to work at getting better and better at the type of work he/she does best. NOT a smart way to live! Getting down off the continued high? Well, the sounds coming from one son or the others past use - HELL for them and certainly no sunny trip for me either. STUPID! STUPID! Do something for yourself - not destroy yourself with drugs!
